Mid-June, both the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and the launch of the new Gault&Millau Wine Guide took place. These are two leading events in the wine world, where wines, winemakers, and their estates are recognized for their work. During the festive award ceremonies at these events, our Entre-Deux-Monts wines won multiple awards. This is a wonderful recognition of our work and confirms that the path our CEO and winemaker, Martin Bacquaert, has been consistently pursuing is heading in the right direction.
Concours Mondial de Bruxelles
From May 21 to 23, 2026, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles took place in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. A wine tasting event where wines from more than 50 different countries are judged by the most experienced and internationally renowned oenologists, sommeliers, Masters of Wine, and others. Not a traditional tasting, but a prestigious wine competition that enjoys worldwide recognition.
Once again this year, our wines took home awards, with scores that motivate us immensely to continue as we have been!
The winning Entre-Deux-Monts wines in detail:
° Wiscoutre Rosé (Gold Medal): This sparkling “BelBul” is a refined blend of Chardonnay, Auxerrois, and Acolon. Aged for 36 months “sur lattes,” it combines a fresh attack of juicy red fruit with an elegant, fine effervescence.
° 2019 - Collection Héritage (Gold Medal): An absolute prestige sparkling wine from the exceptional 2019 vintage. This cuvée enjoyed a very long aging period in the cellar of over 5 years, resulting in unparalleled depth, complexity, and versatility with food.
° Pinot La Douve 2025 (Silver Medal): A brand-new vintage of this popular still white wine. It is a flawless and aromatic blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Meunier, named after the adjacent Douve Valley. The wine excels in vibrancy, minerality, and fruitiness.
Gault&Millau Wine Guide
On June 15, the fourth edition of the Gault&Millau wine guide was unveiled at the Maison de la Poste in Brussels. Following a blind tasting of 424 wines by a panel of 75 expert sommeliers, 270 cuvées were selected for this edition, including four of our wines: the white wine Molenberg 2024 and the sparkling wines (BelBul) Bacquaert Brut, 2019 Extra Brut, and Cuvée Jean Extra Brut. These last two, along with the Molenberg, are part of the Collection Héritage range, a special selection of wines made from the oldest vines and finest plots.
The Belgian Wine Awards 2026 were also presented during this event. Our winemaker, Martin Bacquaert, received an award for the wine named Cuvée Jean Extra Brut. Jean is Martin’s grandfather, who once owned one of the estate’s first plots. Yet another wonderful recognition for this unique BelBul, available exclusively in magnum format.
Grateful for this recognition, we continue to build the future of Entre-Deux-Monts with great enthusiasm!
